What is counselling, and how is it different from talking to a friend?

Counselling is a professional, unbiased and fully confidential space. Unlike a friend, Prerna will not offer opinions, advice from her own life or take sides. She helps you slow down, see your situation more clearly, and arrive at your own decisions.

What are Prerna's qualifications and experience?

Prerna is a trained counsellor with certification in perinatal mental health and a long-standing practice supporting individuals, couples and families. She specialises in corporate life, pre-maternity, postpartum and parenting concerns, and undertakes regular supervision and continuing professional development.

Is everything I share confidential?

Accepted Answer

Yes. What you share stays between you and Prerna. The only exceptions are the standard professional ones — a serious risk of harm to yourself or another person, or a legal requirement. Prerna will always talk through these limits at the start of your first session.

How do I know which specialty area is right for me?

You are welcome to take the 1-minute clarity check on the homepage, which suggests a starting point based on what you are navigating. If you are still unsure, book an initial session — the first conversation is often the best way to know.

How many sessions will I need?

Accepted Answer

It varies. Some people notice meaningful change in three to five sessions; others prefer ongoing support over a longer season. This is decided together, session by session — nothing is prescribed upfront and there is no minimum commitment.

Are sessions online, in-person, or both?

Accepted Answer

Both. Sessions are held at the studio in New Delhi, or over private, encrypted video from anywhere. Video is often the better fit for postpartum clients and corporate clients with limited time.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

Accepted Answer

You can reschedule or cancel free of charge with at least 24 hours' notice. Within 24 hours, the session is charged in full — but reschedules are always accommodated wherever possible. No questions, no friction.

Can this replace medical or psychiatric treatment?

Accepted Answer

No. Counselling complements medical care but does not replace psychiatric treatment where it is clinically indicated. If your situation would benefit from medication or specialist assessment, Prerna will discuss it with you and, with your consent, refer you to a trusted psychiatrist.

How do I book a session, and what happens after I book?

Choose a focus area, pick a time that suits you, share a few basic details, and confirm. You will receive an email and WhatsApp confirmation with the session details — and, for video sessions, the private link an hour before.

Question 10

What are your fees, and are there packages for ongoing sessions?

Accepted Answer

A 60-minute session is ₹3,000 and a 90-minute session is ₹4,000. Your first video consultation is complimentary as a no-pressure introduction. Packages of four or eight sessions are available at a preferential rate, valid for six months. All fees and package options are shown transparently at the payment step.
